Procedure preparation:
- Gastroscopy: This is an upper GI endoscopy to detect various gastric and small bowel conditions. This procedure is performed under light sedation. Minimum of 4 hours nil by mouth is recommended. Total procedure time would be 15-20 minutes. This procedure is very safe and minimal complications will be discussed at the time of the procedure.
- Colonoscopy: This is examination of large bowel and lower portion of small bowel. Maily performed to diagnose lower GI problems like bleeding, diarrhoea, to detect bowel cancer for a positive stool test (FOBT) and perform surveillance for previous polyps. This examination required adequate bowel preparation/ cleansing to achieve good result. Details bowel preparation guidelines will be provided to so prior to the test.
